Vulnerability Management Patching Engineer Windows

Software Resources has an immediate, long term contract job opportunity for a Vulnerability Management Patching Engineer – Windows with a major corporation in Lake Buena Vista, FL. 

For this particular role, the engineer will be responsible to execute scipts that initiate a patching sequence that executes on individual servers for on-premise virtual machines, pshical servers and Azure cloud resources. This work will require to scale up and scale down process clusters with large number of instances. The engineer will need to ensure the patching completes. Any failed patching will need to be recorded and service requests opened to the appropriate Systems Engineering team for resolution.

This role may require work to be performed on 3rd shifts. This position will also be required to provide status reporting and attend staff meetings on first shift on occasion.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in development and implementation of scalable software systems and components, client-facing web applications, and Internet-oriented (Cloud) applications and systems
  • Two to four years of project experience.
  • Knowledge/experience in relevant technologies, such as:
  • Ruby, Python, PHP, JSP, ASP or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Chef or Client-OO (Operation Orchestration)
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Experience with Grafana
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure and Application Deployment in the Cloud (AWS, Azure)
  • Windows scripting experience
  • ServiceNow
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technology experience in the hospitality/travel industry.
  • Computer Science degree related engineering discipline or management.
  • LEAN Certification
  • Advanced Certification in ITSM or Six Sigma
  • ServiceNow Certification, Implementation Specialist,
  • Knowledge of infrastructure components including cloud.
  • Linux or Windows scripting experience.
  • Microsoft Engineer certifications
  • Azure certification
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
