Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a SQL Server DBA in Miramar, FL.

6+ month contract

Scope of Work:
  • Mid-Level SQL DBA responsible for Administrating SQL server shore and ship databases.
  • Review and QA Database Programs
  • Deploy database change scripts provided by developers and third party vendors
  • Installation, configuration, patching, monitoring of critical SQL Server databases
  • Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
Required Skills/Competencies:
  • Must have the following proficiencies in order of priority:
  • Proficient with query tuning (index analysis, hints)
  • Proficient in troubleshooting server performance. Good understanding of CPU, RAM, disk utilization
  • Proficient in troubleshooting security issues; login issues, connectivity issues
  • Data archiving and purging strategies
  • Installing, configuring basic SQL instances (physical or virtual)
  • Transferring data to/from various sources ETL/DTS, SSIS (bulk copy), replication, data movement
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with patching
  • PowerShell experience
  • Cloud experience
  • Hands on experience MSSQL Server (v2000-2016) standard and enterprise editions
  • Hands-on and good understand of Windows operating system
  • Good working knowledge, understanding and experience in all phases of database administration, including: installation, configuration, physical and logical database design,
  • security, troubleshooting, and managing backup and recovery plans.
  • A basic understanding with MSSQL replication; data movement, and ETL tools like DTS/SSIS
  • A good working knowledge of Confluence, Slack, JIRA
  • A good working knowledge with monitoring and management tools like SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Profiler, APEXSQL
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent Database Administration experience a must.
