Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a Scrum Master in Miramar, FL. 

7+ month contract

Scope of Work:

The Scrum Master will lead the Web scrum team with a well-defined software development life cycle process. This would include processing definition, Agile Scrum and Kanban based Software development along with cross functional communication, software technical project management, requirements trace-ability, source code control, test case management and defect tracking. This position will help the team leverage agile principles, practices and frameworks in order to deliver high value business capabilities.

Main responsibilities:
– Serves and supports the Product Owner, Development and QA teams, specially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog.
– Provides hands-on management and coaching of scrum teams in all aspects of scrum (facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings, daily routines, self-organization, collaboration, iterative development, managing flow, calculating velocity, limiting work in progress, etc.)
– Assesses the maturity of the team and organization and coaches the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and appropriate for the team and organization
– Ensures the team is practicing the core agile principles of self-direction, collaboration, business prioritization, team accountability, and transparency, toward the consistent delivery of working product
– Ensures that release deliverables are clearly communicated to the team
– Identifies risks and supports mitigation activities
– Removes impediments that would prevent the team from achieving its sprint and release goals (internal and external to the team)
– Ensures that retrospectives produce actionable tasks; follows through to ensure that recommendations are implemented successfully and in a timely manner
– Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
– Assists with internal communication, improves transparency, and radiates information
– Reviews scrum processes, drives scrum process improvements and coach team to follow agile/scrum.
– Provides project management services to various team members as an ad hoc basis.

Required Skills/Competencies:
Scrum Master role for at least three years for an agile software development team, preferably in healthcare

Preferred Skills:
– Scrum Master role for at least three years for an agile software development team
– 4 or more years managing end-to-end project delivery
– Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
– Must have experience with JIRA and Confluence.
– Strong experience with sprint planning and retrospectives
– Some experience with other iterative methodologies and Agile approaches such as Kanban
– Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
– Must be a team-player
– Must be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably Computer Science or Information Systems); Master's Degree preferred
  • Required first level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM), preferred second or third level Scrum Master certification (PSM II, PSM III, CSP, CTC)
  • Note: SAFe Agile is a plus.
Required Certifications:
– Track record of continued and recent education in scrum, including training, conferences, user groups and self-study
– Scrum Master role for at least three years for an agile software development team
– 4 or more years managing end-to-end project delivery
– Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
