CI/CD Engineer

Job Purpose:
Implementing and maintaining an automated build and deploy pipeline. This includes but is not limited to architecting the solution, evaluating and recommending appropriate software, installing and updating software, scripting different task, updating and configuring all tools used as part of the SDLC, creating tools for monitoring applications, and software license management.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Develops solutions by reviewing business-defined requirements, studying information needs and conferring with users; adheres to software development lifecycle through planning, analysis, design, construction, test, and rollout; follows source-control standards; studies systems flow, data usage, work processes and investigating problem areas.
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, programming solutions and deploying to production systems. Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and programming patterns and practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
  • Shows passion and aptitude for owning responsibility of technical decisions and direction for one or many projects/teams.
  • Aptly manages team demands on his/her time and shows willingness/ability to delegate technical execution or responsibilities when appropriate.
  • Acts as a liaison or primary point of contact for communicating with client side technical expertise.
  • Directs technical aspect of operations related to escalated client accounts or high severity issues as they affect or confront a project or team.
  • Attends to both business and technical considerations when designing solutions to project/team or company related issues.
  • Demonstrates interest in improving the company’s technical awareness, depth and use of technology across the business. Participates in the evolution of company level best practices, standards, and policies as it related to software development and project management methodologies..
  • Provides thought-leadership as it relates to emerging technologies and readying our company and engineers for productively integrating the same into our business.
Preferred Qualifications:
5-10 years experience
  • Strong background in Windows Automation
  • Experience with automation/configuration management
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with Azure is required)
  • Strong experience with SQL
  • A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with software release management pipeline using Jenkins, TFS, Selenium, SmartBear, Appium
Required Education:
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
