Description:
The Creative Technology Designer is responsible for developing tools, techniques, and systems that support the design and delivery process. This includes pre-visualization, prototyping, and research activities. Pre-visualization work includes using and adapting tools such as Panda3D and Maya/MotionBuilder to create real-time and pre-rendered simulations of future rides and attractions to a project team's specification. Pre-visualization projects may require the development of custom tools for both the programming staff and the 3D digital artists, using tools such as Maya scripting. The position also involves development of interactive prototypes to test out and demonstrate potential interactive/CG based attractions for our parks. These on occasion will lead to opportunities to support the production of these prototypes for installation in the parks. The last component of the job is more focused on the research and development of new graphics/display/interaction techniques for possible inclusion into projects.

Qualifications:
Dish Operator –  Looking for a proactive and detail oriented person to support, maintain, and facilitate the use of a virtual reality display located in the Glendale, CA offices.

Tasks and Responsibilities :
  • Maintain virtual reality display and perform routine maintenance including 
    • Calibrating Tracking System 
    • Calibrating Multi­display system 
    • Testing applications 
  • Install software and upgrades to system including managing software licenses on a Windows PC. 
  • Install hardware upgrades and their required drivers as necessary. This may also include procurement of hardware pieces. 
  • Setup and pre­configure system for executive reviews and work sessions. This includes:
    • Preloading assets 
    • Assessing real­time performance of assets 
    • Checking calibration quality 
  • When necessary, facilitate reviews and work sessions. 
  • Provide training and assistance to various teams using the VR display. 
  • Liaise with the facilities staff to coordinate upkeep of the VR display A/V systems and the immediate environment. 
  • Provide communication and status reports to the management team on the status of the VR display.
Basic Qualifications:
  • The candidate must be comfortable installing hardware on computer systems. 
  • The candidate must be comfortable installing software on a Microsoft Windows based computer. This should also include an understanding of basic networking in Windows. 
  • Ability to quickly learn and configure new software. 
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to interact in a team environment. 
  • Display time management skills under multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A familiarity with 3D modeling packages (such as Maya or SketchUp). 
  • Some programming or scripting knowledge 
  • Familiarity with game engines (such as Unity or Unreal). 
Required Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
